FREE SCUBA TRAINING IN THE POOL

LAST THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH

What’s involved?

First, you’ll be given a brief, but thorough dive theory and safety briefing in our classroom on Batu Bolong in Canggu.

After that, we’ll transport you to the pool in Dalung (15 minutes drive), help you in to your dive equipment and teach you the fundamentals of diving.

The whole session will run for around three hours.

Once you’re finished in the pool, we’ll transport you back to our dive shop. You can have a shower there if you like, hang out with Jose our dive dog, or head home…sad face 🙁

Check out some FAQs below.

For Free? Really??

Yep, you read that right! Corona got us a bit down in the dumps so we thought we’d offer to give you an introduction to scuba diving in the swimming pool on us. We do ask that you cover your pool entrance ticket. The cost is Rp.20,000, payable at the pool itself.

Where do I need to be?

We’ll start at our dive shop on Jl Batu Bolong, next door to Cocomart and then transport you to the Tirtha Bayu Kolam Renang (swimming pool) in Dalung, and back again. If you’d like to shower afterwards, we have facilities at our shop.

What time?

We’re running two sessions each day. One at 8:30 am and one at 12 noon. Please be on time, unfortunately, we won’t have time to wait for you if you’re late.

What about CoVID19?

We take your health and our health seriously! Here’s how we’re keeping you as safe as possible during this time:

  • All our staff are temperature checked before starting work each day, as you will be before you come into the dive shop.
  • We ask you to wear a mask during all land-based activities.
  • Hand sanitiser and soap are available during activities.
  • Our equipment is thoroughly disinfected and dried prior to each customer using it.

Do I need to be a great swimmer?

Nope. However, it helps a lot if you’re confident in the water and/or have reasonable swimming skills.

What if I have medical issues?

Whilst it’s important that you’re honest about any medical issues you have, it doesn’t necessarily mean you can’t dive. You’ll be asked to fill out and sign this medical questionnaire prior to any diving activity with us.

What's the minimum age? Can my kid come along?

We LOVE teaching kids! Yes! Please register your kid. Children from 8yrs old can learn to scuba dive in the pool. You can read more about our kids’ programmes here.

What should I bring?

Your swimsuit (we recommend you wear it under your clothes), a towel and a water bottle. That’s it!

What's next?

If you discover that you love diving as much as we do, we’d love to teach you your Open Water Diver course. This is the entry-level certification course that allows you to dive to 18m, with any other certified diver. You can read more about the course here.

Will I get credit towards my Open Water Course?

Yes and no. Your Open Water course will be more enjoyable if you complete this session with us. However, during our free training, you’ll be learning just one of the five training sessions we take you through during your Open Water Diver pool training. It’s a good idea to refresh everything you’ve learned.
