Discover Scuba Diving in Bali

Discover scuba diving in a safe and supported environment with a PADI Instructor.

Discover Scuba Diving Bali

This is an excellent programme if you’d like a one-day diving experience without going through the certification course.

You’ll learn basic dive skills in a pool or pool-like environment with your instructor before heading onto the dive site for two dives (or three at Nusa Penida).

If you’d like to become a certified diver (which we highly recommend!), you’ll need to do the three day open water course.

Two Open Water Dives

Once you’re feeling comfortable with breathing underwater, skills and your instructor, they’ll take you into the ocean for two open water dives.

Discover Scuba Dive Sites

Bali’s most iconic dive site is the USAT Liberty shipwreck at Tulamben in northeast Bali. We do shore dives around this World War Two shipwreck, a super dive site for beginners. We usually enjoy excellent visibility, kind currents and warm water.

The wreck has become an artificial reef since it sank in 1942. It’s covered in hard and soft corals, giant clams and barrel sponges, and all manner of schooling fish. It’s a huge dive site – 120m long, starting only 3m below the surface, with the ship’s bow at 28m deep.

We have a swimming pool onsite to train you before doing two discover scuba dives on the epic shipwreck.

Tulamben is around a 2.5-hour drive from Canggu. Pick-up is approximately 6:00 a.m. and return around 5 p.m.

Padang Bai

Blue Lagoon combines pristine white sand and stunning coral bommies. With vibrant, healthy coral and usually calm conditions, it’s a great training site for Discover Scuba divers.

Marine life is abundant – plenty of schooling reef fish, frogfish, blue ribbon eels, cuttlefish and octopus, orangutan crabs, crocodile fish, turtles and eels.

Rather than pool training, here you’ll train in the bay’s shallow waters. Padang Bai is around a 1.5-hour drive from Canggu and 10 minutes by boat. Pick-up is at approximately 6:30 a.m., and return around 4 p.m.

Nusa Penida

Nusa Penida is an exciting, three-dive day with manta rays, crystal clear water, stunning coral and stunning marine diversity.

We stay on the boat during our dives and enjoy dramatic scenery above and below the water as we travel around the island’s waters.

Conditions at Nusa Penida can be intimidating at times. We will train you in the pool in Canggu before your dive day to ensure you’re very comfortable with breathing underwater, fundamental dive skills and your instructor. Discover scuba divers wanting to experience Nusa Penida should be comfortable in the water.
